Tub-to-shower conversion in a Toms River ranch
A standard five-foot hall-bath alcove where the tub came out and a low-curb shower base went in. The owners wanted low maintenance over maximum glass.
The constraints
- The alcove is the only shower in the house, so downtime had to be short and predictable.
- A swinging door would have hit the opposite wall in a narrow hall bath.
- Budget mattered more than a frameless look.

How we solved it
Bypass instead of a swing
Two sliding panels keep the door entirely inside the alcove footprint, which the room required.
Framed, deliberately
A quality framed system was the right call here: lower cost, tighter water control on a low curb, and simple parts to service.
Sequenced with the tile
Template happened after the tile cured, so the frame sits on finished surfaces rather than on assumptions.

A walk-in shower in the same footprint as the old tub, with a door that clears the vanity and a top-hung track that does not collect grime.
